Going home again!

Published by petra under Personal

It’s been another eventful year for me whether it came to my professional, but mostly personal life. I did some traveling, meeting new people or reconnecting with old ones. I also had to make some life altering decisions & probably for the first time in my life I put myself ahead of everyone else in order to be happy in a long run.

It’s been hard on me in more than one way, but am glad and thankful that I have found the strength to do so. I am so grateful for all the people that helped me through all this or even opened my eyes and gave me strength to follow through. During trying times like these, it always warms your heart to know that there are and always will be people in your life who will love you no matter what… who’ll love you unconditionally, and all that is priceless.

As we all know, we all live our lives the best way we can and have our own hurdles that we need to go through or pass. Unfortunately, my mom had to go through another one less than two weeks ago when she unexpectedly lost her husband. It saddened all of us and took us by surprise. Everyone who knew Jožko, will remember him for his great spirit and always smiling no matter what state of mind he might have been. We all miss him dearly.

I wish it was under different circumstances, but this event brought me to a decision to go home sooner than expected. It might have taken more than a week for my work to approve, but now it’s official that day after Thanksgiving, I will be flying out of Seattle to go home to spend Christmas Holidays with my family and friends in Bratislava.

I will be working during the week, but still will try to mingle with my friends and have some fun. I would love to travel some too but only time will show if any of that will work out.

Donnie Wahlberg tweeted me!

Published by petra under NKOTB, Personal

Yes, you are reading right, Donnie Wahlberg did in fact tweeted me back today. Finally, after trying to get noticed among all his almost 97k followers for the past few months. My chances seemed to get slimmer and slimmer. I was as persistent as I could have been, but had other things to deal with and yes, I still have a full time job that I would like to keep. So at this point in my life, work comes first and then everything else. :)

Anyway, today was a “I Love You” day. I was actually busy working, so I just sent three tweets… I was in a call meeting, but when I got done…went to check if some of my friends wrote me… Continue Reading »

Meeting Luke Perry on set of “The Leverage”

Published by petra under General, Personal

Still can’t believe that I did in fact got to meet the Luke Perry that I used to watch during my teen years back in ’90s on Beverly Hills 90210!

How did that happen? Well, I came to work like any other day, bright and early before 6:30 A.M. As I was pulling around our office building, I noticed a whole bunch of trailers. Couldn’t tell whether they were unloading or packing after an event that might have taken place over the weekend.

So I just went in, and started to go about my day while here and there tried to figure out as coworkers started to come in, what might be happening. Then I hear that it was a film crew. However, it took almost till lunch time till I found out what it was. One coworker came up to my desk and told me that since I enjoy to stalk celebrities that Ii might care to know that there is Luke Perry outside of our building filming TNT TV Show “The Leverage“. Auburn, WA says THANK YOU to NKOTB

Published by petra under NKOTB, Personal

July 7, 2009 was for a lot of people just another day, or maybe not… but definitely not for me! Not only it was the day of Michael Jackson’s memorial, but it was one more day, one more chance to see my men, but most importantly meet and hug/twug out my man of all times, Mr. Donnie Wahlberg!!!! :)

Yes, I know… I thought that going on a cruise with the guys this year would be the last thing for me to go to, and then I would just get down to serious business like work… But considering the last couples months and what I have gone through including a divorce, when upgrades to 5* VIP became available for Full Service Tour… I didn’t hesitate and bought one. Even though the show again wasn’t in Portland, especially when I took Donnie’s word from back in Frankfurt that they will be in PDX this summer, I settled for Auburn, WA. And I am soooooooooooooooo glad I did that!

So, here how the day rolled out… Continue Reading »

I am so ready!

Published by petra under NKOTB, Personal, Travel

I can’t believe that the day has finally come. The day of my first cruise, the day when I will go to Miami, FL and Bahamas for the very first time with no one else other than NKOTB and some beautiful ladies from all over the place!!!

I have picked out some outfits, but most importantly am bringing with me a lot of energy, which I will need to have a lot of fun for the next few days to create some great memories and meet new people.

I hope to have a lot to share upon my return to PDX on Monday night. Whether it will be through pictures, videos, or just simply through some great stories to tell. I’ll check back as soon as I can.

Getting ready for NKOTB Cruise!

Published by petra under NKOTB, Personal, Travel

It’s been some time since I’ve posted anything. So much has happened and is still happening in my life. Seems like so much has taken place since this year began… Either way, I have to admit that it have been on an emotional roller coaster for at least last several months, but am convinced that it will get better soon.

But what I have been up to since the last time I’ve posted something?

Well, I came back from my one month long trip in Bratislava. I made a little trip to Frankfurt where I finally got my FACE TIME with my man, Donnie Wahlberg, as well as a kiss. :) The last day of my stay, I had a reunion from my elementary school after 18 years. And I have to say, it was better than I have ever expected!!!!

Finally got some FACE TIME!

Published by petra under NKOTB, Personal, Travel

It’s been already a week since I’ve gone to Frankfurt to see NKOTB to perform in Germany for the first time after 15 years. This time around I got my 5* VIP, it didn’t get canceled, so I finally got to get up close to Donnie and rest of the bunch. :)

I flew into Frankfurt in the morning, met with two girls from Italy who I have talked to only via e-mails or Facebook. Cristina and Valerie flew in Frankfurt only few minutes after me, so we took a shuttle to our hotel to meet the rest of their friends. Among all those girls, I also got to meet Jana who is from Slovakia as well, but has lived in Italy for numbers of years already. We hit it off instantly… Continue Reading »

Back in Bratislava

Published by petra under Personal, Slovak, Travel

It has been a while since I posted anything about what I’ve been up to. Last year went by fast, I don’t even know how but I am glad it did. It wasn’t the best or my favorite year. Well, maybe attending NKOTB concert in Tacoma, WA. That was FUN!!!! :)

However, other things didn’t seem to work out as they’ve been planned like having Paul’s mom over for Thanksgiving. She had to cancel last minute, then we got stuck in Portland over Christmas, instead of going to see everyone in California due to snow storms. Nevertheless, I ended up making my mind about coming to visit my family and friends in Bratislava, Slovakia after almost 1 and 1/2 year for an entire month. Continue Reading »

Donnie face time

Published by petra under NKOTB, Personal

With the latest Portland show cancelation due to scheduling conflict, which turned out to be NKOTB attending AMA’s, it seems like my chances of getting my turn of face time with Donnie got pretty slim :-(

Not only I lost my chances to meet them backstage, but even to see them live in concert from anywhere within first 10 rows. I’ve been hurt, heartbroken, crushed, devastated and who knows what else…

While waiting and hoping whether the guys will come with an official announcement that they will reschedule, I was getting worried whether this was my only chance to see them one more time. Therefore, I ended up biting the bullet and buying two tickets on eBay for Tacoma/Seattle show, which is scheduled on November 22. The same day when my dearly missed brother would have turned 28 years old :-( I miss him STILL so so so very much. And now, every time I see Danny, he makes me think of him as my Kuko always wanted to have a body like his.

So, now I’ve spent additional $700 bucks for row 8, but with no VIP’s. It looks like though I might be able to sell one of them to get portion of the money back at least. But will I get some face time with Donnie like he is asking for,and like some of my fellow Donnie’s girls got already? I will have to wait and see. Keep your fingers crossed for me on November 22, 2008!!!!! ;-)

Career change

No, po tyzdni som spat s novinkami.

I am back, after one week with more news and updates. I must say that I have had last few months, but mostly weeks pretty emotional and spiced up with various good or bad events that I was faced with.

…and one of those was concerning my job. After a lot of thinking and going back and forth, I’ve decided to resign at my current job and accept another offer from ISITE Design in downtown Portland. I’ve heard great things about them, which makes me anxious to get started and show what I can offer as well as have some fun along the way. At the same time, it is sad to leave Providence, since I’ve had made some great friends there.

Now I just need focus on what is ahead of me and look forward to it, which I am. :-)
